Citroën used to be so avant garde it's ridiculous. Nowadays they make uninspired cars, but they used to be the bomb.

Go watch the grand tour on French automotive design and beside laughing your ass of you'll see that the French had a penchant of doing things differently, sometimes with great success and sometimes not so much.

The thing about citroen that i find interesting is that they are always the most comfortable cars i have ever been in.

They pioneered hydraulic suspension, which means they have the feeling of floating instead of driving. This technology waar also used by Mercedes and Rolls Royce.

I mentioned the grand tour, where Clarkson admits the CX being the most comfortable car he's driven. They prove this by having some interns disabling a bomb in the trunk whilst driving over cobblestones.

Rather unfortunately the last Citroën with that suspension was made in 2007. So modern Citroëns are meh.

That suspension design was also infamous for being unreliable, so there's that.
