I was very surprised after waiting all year to see them drastically cut the price a day after our summer tourist season ended. From $69 to $39 for a 2019, 2020, and 2021 cask strength releases 375ml. It has had the asterisk on the full price tag for awhile now and I was hoping this day would come. About a full pallet left when I got mine.
Shame they use plastic on the bottles like that. I wonder how many micro particles they will turn into? A million? More? It would be interesting to see the data on that.
It's wax.
I'm not sure it is. We just burnt some to test and it was very much plastic.

There is a "How it's Made" video on YouTube for whiskey, and Makers Mark is the factory they tour, IIRC they have a section on the wax capping.

Its more then just believing it... Reproducable experiments my friend. Try it yourself.
I get your intention, but ...the whiskey will probably do much more damage than any of the plastic
