Sorry for the late post my sober peeps!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, lets not drink alcohol!

Spam away! When I had my one year in July, the “I should celebrate!” Thoughts were frequent. It’s so ingrained to drink for all occasions, both the good and bad ones. I would up going out and asking for a mocktail made with ginger beer (and leaving it up to the bartender for the rest). And I was fine with that!

Ooohhh leaving it up to the bartender is such a good idea for mocktails! Then you get to be surprised with the "newness" of it each time because you're always surprised by a new flavor profile. I'm pocketing this idea because I never would have come up with it on my own. With the holidays coming up, it's gonna be extra handy.

I'm still in awe of your year. That feels like it's so far away. But I also know that's why these 24 hour pledges are so important. A single day is so much less daunting to commit to.
