Hi all, I will be participating in my first local tournament in ~3 weeks. Planning to ask my sensei for advice this week but thought I'd ask here too :)

What are the most important things to focus on between now and then? Any tips for nerves and "mental" preparation, like things to do the day before/morning of? I am planning to ask for grip fighting practice and maybe 1-2 good entries for my favorite throw, is there anything else you would recommend?

Thanks.

Lol thanks for remembering! Nobody else was in my weight category ๐Ÿ˜” but I had a good time, it was fun to watch everyone else's matches and I got to help with taking videos of my friends' matches. Next time I'll probably try to go to a bigger tournament so that I have somebody my size to play.

Unfortunately that is the reality with a lot of smaller tournaments. Usually we try our best to combine divisions as appropriate but sometimes it is just the luck of the draw. Keep us up to date for the next one!
