Tried that on Firefox, Chrome, Safari. All the same.

WELL, I found the problem.

So in the settings, under Languages I selected "Undetermined" because it said above if I unselect this it will not show me most posts. But correctly it should be not selected at all.

Once I unselected it all the posts showed up

I wonder if having both “unselected” and “English” achieves the same result. Anyway, that was confusing. I’ve unselected it now, let’s see if I notice any difference

Perhaps.

One other thing I found out is that if I create a comment and do not select a language it will hang forever. There needs to be some "default" language setting

Does the performance really improve significantly? I’ve seen so many reports of comments taking a very long time to post

Update: doesn’t seem to make a difference for me; still taking like ~10 seconds

Yeah, not sure either. I felt like, but I am not writing tons of NEW comments :)
