After running around during my first few playthroughs, I have a pretty healthy fear of confrontation so I probably won't be raiding houses until I've learned more about combat. Great advice though, I didn't know about any of these things.
what does this mean?
Oh, trying to draw zombies away from groups to thin their numbers, something I do to get a foothold in a new area if I arrive at day time to explore.
You do get big hordes in the cities and towns and it is a lot harder to do later in the game but you can also separate groups by drawing a few off the group at a time to weaken the group.
So i guess make use of the zombies sight and smell senses and pull a few zombies at a time than trying to kill a whole lot of zombies at one
Also want to say that it does get easier once you're more familiar to the game.
I mean I surprised myself when my character heard "Bark" noise notification, and I fortunately I knew what it meant that as I had scouted an enemy that I don't want to spoil was near by.
It tracked me down during the night, luckily my character wasn't sleeping and I went out, unsure of odds, and beat it - largely in part to the quarterstaff I had just built( really good early training weapon : good accuracy, decent damage , block and a sweep attack)
