That the HTML/CSS structure of web programming is absolutely disgusting and not necessary. The internet could be and should be so much more from a developer pov. Also people who double space instead of tab often have their mouths open while mashing space 16 times.
I completely understand and clearly see that web development is the future, but I still think it’s all gross and will always prefer targeted efficient compiled code. Why? Because I’m a huge fucking dork.
The internet is already too much.
Yeah… notlikethismeme.jpg
Did you have your mouth open while assuming that indenting with spaces actually involves pressing the space bar?
Dunno, maybe! 🤔 Tell me, 15 years ago which editor were you using? Editors have come so far in the last 15 years and I think that many people forget how rough even visual studio was for the longest time.
But do go in with the passive aggressive tone to a comment made in a thread about unpopular opinions. Very noble!
15 years ago I was too young for programming, but I'm pretty sure Vim already had the
expandtab
option at that time. You're the one who started the passive-aggressive tone…
bro hasnt heard of an IDE before.
most will convert tab to space, or can be configured to. vim just has one command that can be put in vimrc
i agree with the web being overused for a lot of things, but if it were simply html/css (less js) it would be better
Of course I have, where did I say that I use spaces? I was making a comment based off of observations of web developers over the years and surprisingly a lot of them will mash the space bar all day. I shit you not. But go ahead and project that onto me for some reason?
ive never seen anyone whos not an absolute beginner, using notepad, spamming space for indents. i think most people know how to use tab->space conversion
I would say my observations were between 2006-2010 and this was at UC Berkeley. Again, I shit you not.
Extra tid bit: during the same time I watched a EECS student rage while using vim. I then watched them code Java in nano for the rest of the day…
