I'm not sure which is the ideal pick when playing hunter. Seems like there are a few that are ok. But is there an ideal one?

I just won a Naga Hunter of Chei run which was a lot of fun. Found a hand crossbow with penetration which was amazing. Probably a mid-tier god choice though. It's more that hunter helps minimizes Chei's weaknes (don't have to move much in combat) rather than vice versa.

Agree Hep Knights are the best choice.
