I'm 39, best thing for me was accepting that this is my way of live and trying to not worry about it. It kinda works, life is too short to constantly worry about things you realistically can't change.

better to focus on the manageable aspects that have big effects on your life than if your kitchen has been cleaned in the last two weeks.

Gosh I want this so badly! The problem is that my wife and I bought a house with her parents, and her dad is a clean freak. It's so mentally stressing when I'm exhausted after getting my kids to sleep then realizing the kitchen and living room needs to be clean or else I'm gonna hear about it in the morning.

Not to paint my FIL as a horrible person he's a pretty chill guy outside of cleaning, I actually think he's autistic like my wife (his daughter), and 2 out of 3 of my kids (his grandkids).
