I don’t get their motivation behind this change. I mean I read the write-up they posted, but I don’t get how they could seriously think this is a better experience for users.
it's a better experience for corpos that want their brand name to be uniquely identifiable.
Their blogpost was complete gaslight, none of the points they listed made any sense.
It was literally just look more like a mainstream social platform, there are rumours of an IPO...

I don't find the previous system even difficult to navigate. I guess Discord is looking IPO since standard usernames are easier to digest or something...
