General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I never said I was worried. I said it would be better to deal with the EU over India.

I also don‘t get your point. Will health care workers from India be paid less than the ones from the EU? Will they provide a lesser service? Or do you think we shouldn‘t take away expertise from developing countries?

[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

India would not get accepted into the EU due to the standards India maintains. In this light, I suppose the EU must be racist also. I think along the same lines as the EU. India is part of the BRICS group. Send your expertise to Russia. They need bodies a lot more than we do.

Were you trying hard to give an answer as silly as possible, or does it come natural?

Mate no-one is talking about admitting India to the EU. What a way to throw a non sequitur into the mix to deflect from your original daft point.

The topic is about accepting skilled Indian health workers and carers for which you said you would rather not accept and deal with the EU instead. Yet you provide no explanation of why instead coming up with absurd GDP per capita figures and now EU membership.

You're basically saying Europeans are good enough to come to this country but Indians are not. That's absolutely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.

No my friend disgusting is supporting Russia against Ukraine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Again, what has this to do with health care workers? What benefit is it to you to make sweeping degrading generalisations of Indian people like you're doing?

After all the campaigns and education in schools about ending racism, you're a classic example of why we still have a long way to go. It properly makes me sick to think there's people like you in this country.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You keep on trying. Meanwhile you have never denied India has to be near the top of the pile when it comes to racism and segregation systems.

Near the top of the pile when it comes to racism and segregation systems.

🙄 this is the UN study of racism and segregation you're pointing to or your mate Nigel down the pub told you this?

Does India have elements of their population that are racist, yes. Does the EU have elements of their population that are racist, yes. Does India have qualified nurses and health care workers that the UK needs, yes. Does the EU have qualified nurses and health care workers that the UK needs, yes. Should we allow qualified health care workers and nurses into the UK to meet demand, of course we should yes.

However your take seems to be that we should exclude qualified Indians because what exactly? Their... checks notes... GDP per capita is wrong? Come off it, buddy. You're not fooling anyone with your back handed racism. Despicable.

😂 how long did you have to Google to find that definitive list?

Also I notice you're not answering any challenge about the original point regarding skilled workers? Instead preferring to advance your racism agenda.

Why are you racist? What happened to you as a child?

Again, nothing to do with the quality of skilled nurses. Just more racist dog whistling from you the racist. Sad.

Everything is fine.

It is not my fault you have a nation I don't want anything to do with.

You are racist, self serving with war profits, while at the same time offering nothing in GDP per capita. There nothing whatsoever would make me want to keep a trade deal with India over the EU.

Which happens to throw a huge amount of support to Ukraine, has checks and balance against discrimination, and guess what they have a decent GPD per capita. Are you really so uneducated you cannot work it out?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

You specifically started out saying that you didn't want qualified Indians in positions that the UK needs and tried to support this racist view by quoting GDP figures.

Imagine someone said the same about, oh I don't know, Irish people. Imagine they said Irish qualified nurses shouldn't be allowed to work in the UK because Ireland is a tax haven? Do you hear how daft and racist that is? Yet you can't see how daft and racist you sound when you talk about Indians?

Are you really this bitter about foreigners?
