Ya that's pretty sad. And the City maintained their contract even after uncovering the fraud? I think this isn't the first time I've seen city/ county funds taken by fraudulent contractors. Meanwhile they ended the contract with Friends of Trees?
It doesn't exactly leave me with warm fuzzy feelings. We need some serious reviews into how we vet these orgs.
Maybe stop voting in woke city councilors?
So conservatives wouldn't hand out a bunch of taxpayer money to shady businesses? Funny because the US justice department is currently investigating hundreds of companies for fraud related to the nearly a trillion dollars of PPP grants handed out under the previous conservative administration who went as far as blocking investigators from scrutinizing any of these handouts. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/06/15/inspector-general-oversight-mnuchin-cares-act/
Thats going to be a tough sell here I fear, since this exactly level of blind wokeness seems to be the main strength of the bulk of our candidates. The failed ones are trying to make more of themselves as well.
