Legal immigration is great. The problem with cities not enforcing immigration policy is that it can lead to:

  • Increased crime
    • People entering the country aren’t background checked and processed
  • Increased underpaid or unpaid workers in poor working conditions
    • They aren’t legal citizens, so unfortunately don’t have much in the way of legal rights
  • Increased strain on social programs
    • This lowers resource availability for the legal citizens that depend on those programs and pay taxes to fund them.
