Some of us just want to protect our family in a dangerous country man. I have guns and vote blue and keep to myself. I don’t want to hurt anyone I just want to keep my family safe

Hey, I have guns, too, and I know lots of people like you and I. I think it's a spectrum, though. I just don't think gun "rights" should be put in a pedestal, as if they are the same as freedom FROM religion and freedom of speech, etc...

It's just gotten so crazy in recent decades, and just seems to keep getting even crazier.

Some examples:

  1. I've seen some of the same people that advocate for guns being a "right" that can never be changed or restricted ALSO arguing that voting is not "really" a right.
  2. The extremism of gun owners just being so in-your-face about it and downright weird. Interesting anecdote - just a few days ago, I saw a car (hybrid) with the sticker on it that said: "I'm saving fuel to buy more guns". Now seriously, WTAF? I'm sure this owner thinks this is a great way to "own the libz", but most normal Americans look at that and think - in times gone by, the men with the butterfly nets would be called in and take this kind of person off for some much-needed help. It clearly looks like a cry for help and nothing more. And it's considered "normal" in our current environment.
