You know--I just encountered this. Lots of queer folks of various types in healthcare!
I've been visiting a lot of doctors since I broke my foot. At one foot dr, the nurse tried to set me up with her (seemingly lesbian, and also a nurse) daughter, which was kind of hilarious because I'm a trans guy but not into girls, I just look dyke/butch.
And at the OTHER foot doctor (I got a second opinion on my broken bones), one of the nurses was a trans dude. He hadn't been on T long enough to drop his voice, or wasn't lucky enough to get much of a drop on T, but otherwise was stealth. I only noticed because running into other trans folks with good jobs gets me excited and I was like--wait, is he trans? It's so hard to tell, but I think he is. Oh wow, you can be trans in THIS state and do THIS job? How cool is that?
