From what I've heard from another autistic person...some autistic people avoid getting haircuts. Some reasons include the small talk, not getting the haircut they want, or not deciding on what they want, so they just let it grow out while they decide.

For me it's mostly the executive load of making an appointment. With long hair my wife could trim it and now with short hair I can cut it myself with a hair trimmer.
