I'm quitting again! (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/stopsmoking

I stopped smoking last year and shared some of my experiences in /r/stopsmoking, which was one of the few places on Reddit that actually helped me. I hope this place can grow large and active enough to help other people quit the stinky sticks.

I started smoking again in March this year.

But today I'm quitting again. it's 15.20 here and I haven't smoked yet today. I hope I can stay off the smokes for good this time, but I have a stressful elweek ahead of me, so I'm a bit worried I'm going to fail.

Edit: I'm actually surprised how many people have replyed to my post, I guess this community has some lurkers even though there aren't many subscribers. Thank you for the positive thoughts, everybody! ๐Ÿค—

Good luck! May your week be stressless and your cigarettes misplaced in an inconvenient location!

I didn't even make it through a full day. I've smoked a couple of cigarettes every day since I was supposed to quit. It's a lot less than usual, but I'm not smoke free... I don't feel the nicotine replacement products are having the effect I had hoped for and I'm having trouble ditching the cigarettes after a meal. I'll have to keep trying, but this is harder than I expected ๐Ÿ˜•

Oh, no! :) Well, a couple a day is a lot better than a couple packs a day. You'll get it next time!

I talked to my counselor today, and she said not to worry and just keep cutting down and work on the few cigarettes I still have trouble quitting (those after a meal). So I'm still quitting just not as quickly as I expected...
