The original is 4:3 ratio for the CRTs you see in the SGC, but I made a 16:9 version for my lock screen. enjoy.

Man, I'm not even sure it's possible, but it'd be so cool if this could be tied into a pin unlock for the computer. As you type your pin (or password, I suppose) it fills in and locks the chevrons

I'm sure some Linux nerd could figure it out. I avoid doing most of that custom desktop stuff in case I break something. There's some software that does that that... What's it called? Rain meter?

Do not tempt me! i3lock and Swaylock already have a somewhat similar circular pinentry indicator that lights up random segments as you type. Swaylock-effects can use a static image as background, and maybe I could get it to draw active chevrons instead of segments.

Rainmeter yes. I recommend downloading it and playing around with it. You can't really break anything playing with rainmeter. I've not been able to find anything on Linux that's as simple to use.
