I don't know Linus personally the way you do, but he ran LMG as if it was still a small company running out of a house instead of a midsized one. The vibe I got was that the mistake of putting the Billet item on auction wasn't made by Linus personally, but my a staff member, that would explain that apology with Linus not taking personal responsibility because he felt like it wasn't on him to manage the movement of this one item.
I have no horse in this race. Will still watch Techquickie and the occasional GN video.
You are ignoring the vast bulk of the Billet story if you think its just about the whoopsie selling.
Also new information in a GN follow up to Linus's statements showed that he outright lied about compensation to billet. its revealed by Billet themselves that there was no compensation agreement, That he hadnt even spoken to Billet labs until he sent a email at the same time he made his forum post, hours after the original GN video aired, That Billet had yet to reply to at the time of his post.
He lied about everything, to fool people into thinking hes some poor misunderstood victim.
A classic narcissist response.
