A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics
    • 3.1) NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out

    • 3.3) Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct

I don't think I've seen a single post about sports in Lemmy. Ever. Same with mastodon.

PS: just saw the first sports post about the gunners :/ we're going to need more tools to filter post topics and instances, otherwise it will be impossible to discover anything you're not already subscribed to.

I don't think the group of people interested in sports and the group of tech savvy that use the fediverse overlap that much!

So why the shower though(t)? 😕

Well I'd still like to be clean.

This is actually my biggest complaint about fedi services. I really love the baseball communities on Reddit (not on Twitter, though, that shit is toxic and often very homophobic), and there's just not a substitute elsewhere. I would love for baseball Lemmy to take off.

Just a general reminder for folks to generate content. Don't worry if it doesn't get a lot of attention yet, the fact that it's there will bring people in.
