An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Also, marunong na ako kumain ng chicken feet. My coworkers just taught me. Grabe, ngayon ko lang na-appreciate ang chicken feet, I didn’t really get it back then.

I'm one of those people who grew up eating chicken feet in "addidas" form. I've somehow come up with a method to eat them without getting my hands dirty, tho it takes a bit of hand and mouth dexterity.

No, scratch that, kahit pang-ulam solb na!

Also I like them betamax a bit burnt.

And the idea of eating the chicken brain. ._.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

And I actually like the idea of eating the chicken brain. Mejo weird nga lang kung iisipin mo. I also don't even think about what I'm eating when I'm eating balut, so…. 😅

It's understandable. Mahirap kainin ang helmet, mahirap lutuin ang betamax (in the sense that it quickly gets that off taste if isn't fresh or prepared properly).

There was a time in my life though where our family survived on betamax as it's the cheapest item in the menu. Basta may matinong sauce, okay nang pang-ulam! On the other hand, rare lang din akong kumain ng helmet since makalat syang kainin. You either have to make sure that the little bones are chewed properly, or spit them out. I like the skin and the soft parts inside of it though. I'm also the kind of weirdo who'd dig deep inside fish heads for any available meat or soft parts, so I fully accept that helmet is probably not for everyone (and neither does fish heads).

Masarap yung fish heads, mas mahirap yung helmet, for me at least

Ano yung addidas form 😭

Normal pala yun. It's a whole new world

Ayan yung adidas: skewered chicken feet on a grill

tapos yung mala-gelatin na sinabi ko is the one that looked like this: sweet and spicy chicken feet

The way my mom cooks the latter is a sweet-and-sour adobo style but it's also available in some Chinese restaurants. I heard it being touted as being good for the skin due to its collagen content (kaya rin mala-gelatin siya) too.
