I feel like in thrash, there is a lot of diversity when it comes to vocal styles due to there not being many constraints as to what is considered "thrash metal vocals". With this in mind, what would you consider your favourite style and do you have any examples of bands with this style? Some examples of types of vocals:

  • Gutteral (death metal style).
  • Shrieking/croaking (black metal style).
  • Raspy/shouty.
  • Clean.
  • High pitched e.g. Toxik, Overkill, Slayer.
  • Low pitched/growls.
  • Midrange e.g. Toxic Holocaust, Rob Dukes.

There are probably way more than this, such as more unique vocals like Zetro's but you get the idea.

I wouldn’t necessarily say Zetro is unique.. dude sounds almost identical to Bon Scott.

I prefer the raspy shout or the “pitched scream”. Hetfield, Anselmo, Kyle Thomas from Exhorder, etc.

Fair enough, I was more thinking along the lines of unique within thrash metal specifically but you have a point.
