Lmao I warned you. If even I think they are cheesy and over the top then they must be really bad. Like you said though, the music itself is good.

If you can get past the cheesy, OTT lyrics, you have a solid, unashamed, tribute to old-school thrash, with plenty of fun to be had.

Good on you! It's about time haha. Great song choice.

Such an epic intro! It sounds great, shame you can't stream it anywhere.

Context? Does it taste bad or?

Late post, fell asleep by accident last night ;D .

I've been listening to the album Angel Witch by Angel Witch loads recently. I think it's maybe my favourite album I've listened to so far this year. I really wanted to post it however it is heavy metal, not thrash. However, I remember Exodus made a cover of one of their songs, so I can post this instead xD.

I like how on top of Tom Huntings vocals (usually Exodus' drummer, but on this song does vocals) they have Zetro's layered on top during the chorus. At the end it sounds like they also have Chuck Billy's gutteral scream, which I think is likely, since he did vocals on track 6 of this album.

I love Delivering to the Master.

Absolute classic! Don't even need to listen to this post, as that album has never left my mind!

EDIT: I'm gonna listen to it anyway...

I love it! Thanks!

One of my favourite Anthrax tracks to listen to at the moment. Love the slower, yet heavier riffs, and definitely the time change when they play em faster! I was surprised to learn I have not yet posted this song!

Yeah I heard about the drummer. It's an unfortunate reminder that talent isn't synonymous with kindness.

Strange coincidence actually, I was tossing up between posting Fight or Die from this album or the Razor song, obviously I landed on the latter.

Early Razor, plenty of grit.

Thought it was about time I posted some more Onslaught. This time from their most recent album: Generation Antichrist (released 2020). I'm not sure why Sy Keeler left the band, but I wish he was still on vocals. There is nothing wrong with the new vocalist at all, just a matter of preference.

My journey through the US and Teutonic big 4s continues... I've pretty much put listening to other bands on hold till I get through em all (that is minus the non-thrash Metallica albums). I feel like once I finally nail down the basics of thrash, I can fully explore more underground bands (yes, I know, it's been a long time coming ;D). I successfully made it through the "Neo-Destruction" era (almost) in one piece. This is including The Least Successful Human Cannonball, which, I briefly pondered posting here for shits and giggles, but I decided to spare you all the pain. Thank me later. I also listened to All Hell Breaks Loose. I enjoyed it, but this release felt more interesting to post about for now.

This song I feel is quite groovy, especially by early Destruction's standards.

Weird blend of thrash, surf and psych. I'd say it works pretty well, despite losing many aspects of thrash.

Now this is speed metal! Love the vocals and the overall energy of the band. Guitarist Greg Fulton knows how to make killer riffs. Screaming solo!

P.S. fuck trump and fuck that delusional nazi Musk, for those OOTL. Apologies for bringing politics into this community, but I thought this deserved a special mention, people aught to know, especially since the video has started to be edited in places.

Unfortunately can't stream this album in many places.

Absolutely brilliant vocals and guitar work. The raw tone is excellent, almost sounds like their amps are in my room with me!

P.S. apologies for not posting yesterday, I was absolutely hammered last night xD.

Another great example of some technical thrash for ya! I really like the "enchanting" section at 3:07 on this one.

@[email protected] 's last post of Blind Illusion reminded me to post a song from Dis Morta, the (only) recent release from technical thrashers Toxik. I have just started listening to this album, but I must admit I'm impressed. Despite the modern production and style (something that often holds me back from fully enjoying a release) the group still retains the fierce energy and vigor that earned them their great spot in thrash history, that they still hold today. Still full of life, you could easily expect this release from them back in the day, production aside. It is seriously impressive that a band of that era has seemingly not aged at all, in a good way.

It's been a while since I posted any Slayer, so here's Kill Again! What can I say? Raw, menacing, brutal, what more could you want from early Slayer?
