Looks like the mods folded under pressure from the admins.

Anything related to this is deleted by the mods, control and silence for descent.

To be fair CasualUK was the only sub keeping me active on reddit, even before the API changes. It's gonna be an adjustment getting my news etc from other sources, but so far, this community here is hitting the spot pretty well. I'd much rather be here if that's how quickly they caved :(

Good point. I've chucked Google news back on my phone and I'm now trying to find a better news aggregator.

Yeah, I did use that in the past, but I got bored of the same sources. I think that's why I liked Reddit for news, because it came from an un-curated source that I had no control over, so I felt like I was getting every view and not a news outlets constant slant on things.

yes, and the ability to comment and discuss different viewpoints is so valuable to the way I consume news, because it allows me to understand the impact of the news on communities I am not part of.
