But which version? Or are they going to also release different versions to different people, like they did with different cinemas?

If there are 3 different jokes in 20 different areas, technically they can almost create a unique signature for over a billion digital copies making it easy to trace if you pirated your version of the movie.

Really though, I imagine video rippers have figured that out, they 100% compare files ripped from different accounts and regions to remove any residue data which could potentially identify them.

I'm fairly certain the different versions were because they were still making edits to the movie all the way up to release and some theaters got different versions as they went out. It wasn't so much a feature as a colossal red flag to never work for Sony Animation.
