The boomer in me laughs boisterously at the news.
It's of course unfortunate, and I am admittedly victim-blaming here, but I can't really understand how the two thought it's a good idea to leave the phone where they left it to do their dance. Sure, it's 2am, and there's not a lot of people in the streets, but someone can just grab the phone without the two being able to do about it. (And someone did!) Yung ngang nasa kamay mo na eh kaya pang hablutin eh, yun pa kayang nakalapag lang?
Besides, it's a lot better if there's someone watching the video as it records.
I really hope it serves as a painful reminder for the two of them of the importance of ... IDK, common sense?? Ang harsh ata. Let me put it this way: Unless you're really secure in your surroundings, or have deemed it a risk worth taking, just don't leave your valuables away from you. I don't even pull out my phone unnecessarily when I'm in transit. It is just common sense to me, but I guess not everyone thinks so.
