Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I have Microsoft Exchange for work, so I use Evolution client in Linux, because it supports Exchange properly. For personal mail I use Fastmail, it can synchronize to any app you want both on Linux and Android.
Do you like Fastmail? It's one of the options I was considering. Do you use it with a desktop client?
Yes, I like it. You can use it with your domain and multiple addresses and also it can pull gmail for you automatically to have everything in one inbox. I used it with Thunderbird and Evolution. It takes some time to set up, because you need to set up mail and calendar and tasks separately, but they have instructions on their website. https://www.fastmail.help/hc/en-us/articles/360058752834-Set-up-Fastmail-on-your-device
