Thanks for the answer. Actually I think my post was a bit confusing, I will only be changing the stylus, do I still need to remove the cartridge for this operation as well? Or can I pull it off directly?
I'll keep in mind your suggestion for the upgrade!
Oh sorry it should pop right off you'll just need to replace with the factory one assuming that its the stock cartridge (and you can find one)
Awesome. Yes the previous owner is selling an unopened new stylus along with the player, I assume they bought it to have a spare one and never used it.
In case anyone needs it for future reference the stylus on the original Z1-S cartridge just comes right off with a slight horizontal pull away from the cartridge. It is a lot easier than replacing the cartridge on cheaper players such as low-end Crosleys (eg. https://youtu.be/XtFBIa39U0U), so don't expect the procedure to be similar.
