For anyone as confused as I was: yes, this is indeed a link post on lemmy.world pointing to an article on kbin.social hosted by kbin.projectsegfau.lt and ultimately linking to social.bbc.

Can we actually access that with lemmy? It's supposed to be federated but I don't see how to browse that via my lemmy app (sync)
Short answer: no. Interaction between Mastodon and Lemmy is a bit one-sided at the moment in the sense that you can follow Lemmy stuff from Mastodon but not the other way round.
