This is a place to motivate each other to control or stop drinking. It is also a place for non drinkers to discuss and share.

We welcome anyone who wishes to join in by asking for advice, sharing our experiences and stories, or just encouraging someone who is trying to quit or cut down.

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, lets not drink alcohol!

I have drank before.Mostly in my tenage years due to peer pressure. I really did not like it for a: i hated the taste and b: i really dont like when something changes how I am. I like to be in controll of myself and experience exerything as it is I guess. I also tried weed a couple of times, but in the end I did not like it for the same reasons like alcohol. Whenever someone asked me why I don't drink during my university time I always said its "Harām" because this was easier and people seemed to accept this more than "I don't like it"

Congratulations on being sober for such a long time. That's awesome!
