Some reddit apps don't show the message on the poe subreddit that links to this site (for example RIF, it just shows an empty page).
A lot of people are not that invested in poe or reddit that they would bother with moving to another platform, instead they'll just stop interacting with the community and move on to something else. Getting people to move to another platform is always a big ask.
I'm still kinda surprised by how quiet this place has been. I think this site works just fine.
I think there is a very high proportion of lurkers on this instance. Do you want to guess how many users are registered here right now? 3500. And yet, only <30 posts or so. 1% commenters/posters to lurkers ratio might be about right.
Interesting. Maybe people are shy to post when there are so few posts on the front page? or maybe they are all bots haha
I was curious if most are bots too and found some interesting data
Looking at the list of users by domain
I have no idea why other people are subscribing, can only talk about myself. I do not actively play PoE, but I'm planning to when I have time later this year. This means I have nothing of value to contribute to this community. I'm subscribed to lurk and get a feel for the lingo and how PoE works.
For what it's worth, I made an account last week and wasn't able to log in until now due to an infinite loading spinner, so there may be some bugs where people actually just can't post even if they wanted to.
Yeah there was something wrong with the emailer last week, sorry about that!
Not sure, if people are shy, of if there's just nothing to post about right now. As others already stated, it's mid league and usually there are some item showcases and memes on reddit right now.
Furthermore, I could think of most of the registrations would be people who are informed about the blackout of Reddit and think, that it's a good step to go for a new platform, but don't necessarily want to post stuff about PoE right now. The majority will likely just lurk around Reddit and see, how the situation develops.
Because why register a new account on a new platform, if the subreddit is back during the next league start? Everything about the current situation is inconvenient in some way and people usually avoid inconvenience until it's necessary for them to change something (i.e. being able to do new-league-shitposts :P).
maybe people dont want to switch to a different website for no reason and are thus not bothering to do that
