There are a lot of ways to play the old video games. For me, my favorite way is with one of the little 3rd party retro game devices. I had a RGB10 Max 2 and it was great, but I dropped it and it broke. Im using an RG35XX and it's working great for PS1 and earlier. I'd love to get something more powerful for PS2 games but maybe in the future.

Miyoo Mini + owner here, and I love it! It's perfect for taking anywhere and pulling out for a quick five minute play. Been playing mostly GBA games on it, which it is perfect for.
