Howdy /m/SC.

First off, i'd like to apologize for basically disappearing, lifes been doing its best to be a hassle. I have stepped down from /r/SC as a mod as well, but apparently since I "own" this community I can't exactly do that here.

SO.

With that being the case, It's time we get more active mods on the scene here to start making this community more of a functional entity.

I was reached out to and told that this was being discussed by the community already, so hopefully this is a straight forward enough process.

Since this is a new community, and there isn't a precedent for this yet I figure we let the community itself have a hand in choosing.

To start, we will open the floor to nominations, either yourself or someone you feel deserves the spot in helping lead and continue shaping what this community will become.

If interested in nominating please comment on this post with the following:

  • Username (With link to profile preferred)

  • An explanation for why the person you are nominating should be chosen. If nominating yourself, provide some background on your experience moderating a community or helping lead a group.

We will leave discussion open for at least a week: 7/20/2023 - 7/27 2023 and hopefully have a functional mod team in place by the start of August.

I'll throw my pointy moon and star adorned hat into the ring if you need another mod besides Tellum seems to be the obvious choice.

I'm an active user here and a self driven person who wants what's best for the place. I was able to (IMHO) bring up the delicate subject about our mod situation, and reach out in a way that got results hopefully without ruffling too many feathers. I feel like these are valuable skills to have when helping to manage and guide discussion in a productive manner.

I am also a technically inclined person as displayed by finding the git for Kbin and looking into their dev roadmap for mod/admin functions. I like the idea of us not being in the dark or caught unaware of platform updates and the new features that we could take advantage of in the future.

Also just yesterday a co-worker said "Wow, you really like wrestling." So there's that.
