Blind hatred and misplaced moral superiority.
How about another angle, those trucks are dangerously designed and should never have been allowed on public roads in the first place. They’re a hazard to other motorists because of the speeds they’re capable of, and lack of crumple zones including stiff body panels that will protrude into other vehicles. And possibly even worse for pedestrians, with the knife edge sharpness on the body panels already causing deep gashes in some owners hands and arms. The corners and stuff body panels again will increase fatalities in pedestrian collisions.
Damaging or defacing them, or just making them less likely to be driven is a big win for public safety.
It’s already discouraging sales, which were projected to be 500,000 a year, and are estimated to be around 9-12,000 in Q4, which may be down from the previous month even as the price dropped and production speed increased.
