Food, clothing and shelter are becoming a luxury lol.

Never been happier that I've been cooking and baking for 30 years so I can at least save some money making some things myself lol

Idk about you but I paid $2 for a single white onion the other day at Safeway. At this point even home cooking is $$$, it's insane. My farmer friends aren't exactly making more from their crops either.

I'm still easily finding a lb of onions for $4 at No Frills or FreshCo by my place, but the wild prices do seem to vary area by area as well.

I just grow what I can myself, or buy straight from local farmers where possible, but my access to farmers and farmers markets is a bit limited.

Sigh.

Have you looked into a local weekly produce box? Iโ€™m admittedly outside of Toronto so my access is a bit easier, but Iโ€™m sure there are services you can sign up for that would deliver. You donโ€™t get to pick what you get, but itโ€™s helped me to expand my cooking repertoire and I find the qualify and price is superior to most grocery stores.
