Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

It's not about seeing kids on the platform. It's about short form content, short attention spans, and shallow takes. I don't think the idea of maturity breeding patience and interest in deeper levels of understanding of topics is all that controversial.
Many people do not live up to this level of maturity that you seem to expect of them. And many others can't beat the dopamine and quick gratification that tiktok provides. As such, tiktok attracts people of all ages and associating it with kids is, and has been for a while, an outdated view, only held by people who don't actually engage with the platform.
Outdated views and disconnection from present reality is represented by the old man screaming at clouds meme.
My dad was almost killed by a US air raid at the end of WW2, has a PhD, raised 3 children, has at one point disassembled a car into its most basic parts and rebuilt it for a prank, and he's on TikTok.
And his mind will suffer for it. Aging brains eventually become ripe for the dopamine addiction and emotional manipulation that comes with social media.
He's 79. At that age, you can do whatever the fuck you want, without worrying about any adverse long term effects.
You already beat "long term".
My condolences
I tried using Tik Tok, and just spent more time searching for full sources to what I saw than I spent in the actual app. It was deleted long ago because I think it's rather crap for content, however that is just my opinion.
