I'm not necessarily aggrieved to be out of a cup game, especially the Carabao, considering our current thinned, stretched squad.
I'm more annoyed at how we lost. We seem to have a couple of bogey teams but Newcastle have been the main one's for the last couple of seasons. They press well and seem adept at forcing us to play the way they want. Throw in the fact they have a couple of rugby players who seem to get away with anything. Or a player who flops down at the slightest touch and gets every call. They're a just an all-round frustrating team.
It adds to the frustrations that we couldn't bring anyone in. I'm sure it was a very difficult window and we're not a cheating oil money club but, I don't see how the powers at be could have gone the whole month without something.
Factor in the first game after the window closes we lose another player to injury...
Just needed to vent a little.
The issue with Newcastle is that they're so physical you can't even play the kids without risking crippling your entire academy. Honestly we're lucky only to escape with one injury after playing them. Every single time.
There needs to be something done about them, I'm ngl. Something about the north and being coddled by media and allowed to be so physical. We're not even as physical as them and definitely way less dirty and yet we're constantly lambasted for... existing?
I mean the last bit is just Arsenal 'eritage. Getting harder and harder to say it's not racism at this point.
You mention that and I heard recently MLS is getting lambasted by certain elements of the media for mimicking Haaland's celebration when his non-coloured counter parts would be lauded for the courage and bravery he displayed.
Rules for thee but not for me
I've also recently heard the PL is warning players about mocking celebrations? Wtf is the world coming to??? Lol
Funny how it's now an issue after an Arsenal player does it.
They feel vaguely like the Man United of old to me. Never punished, coddled by the media, somehow liked by a lot of people despite having shady shit going on, and wanting to kick all our lads into the physio's
