While fermented garlic and honey are actually pretty good for you, (probiotics from fermentation, certain anti-microbial properties of both garlic and honey, etc), it's not actual medicine.

Home remedies are great at making you feel a bit better while your body fights something off but they're no substitute for medicine to actually help your body fight off your infection.

I'll swear by hot tea, honey, lemon with a splash of some kind of liquor and some chicken noodle soup when dealing with a sore throat but I'm also taking cough medicine to actually manage the symptoms in addition to those home remedies.

Mint for nausea

Honey for sore throat

Antibiotics for fucking infections

These two things aren't really compatible with each other.

Reason I said "certain anti-microbial properties". Both honey and garlic are able to slow the growth of some not so great bacteria like botulism for fermentation while also promoting the growth of good bacteria like lactobacillus.
