I lived there for 4 years. The first time I experienced a bike traffic jam was in this spot. Bizarre experience. No engines or horns, so it's totally quiet. Maybe someone will ding a bell, or chat to their friend while waiting for the lights to change.
How did you feel about it? It sounds like a pleasant experience compaired to car traffic.
Oh yeah it was lovely unless I was really running late, haha. But yes much better than cars.
Where is this?
This is Utrecht, the 4th largest city of the Netherlands. This is the ugliest spot in town. It's the road between the station and the town centre, so at peak hour it's full of bikes.
Utrecht is like Amsterdam without the tourists. Absolutely wonderful. I loved my time there.
