Finally got around to setting up a local Jellyfin server, then setup Tailscale to access it remotely while I'm out.

Setup was super easy — way easier than I anticipated — including the basic setup of Tailscale.

Thanks for the suggestion, I sometimes watch shows from my phone when visiting family and I had to resort to only using the web player within the official app with baked in subs, otherwise it would be out of sync or had other issues
