Cats are much easier to understand than humans, so always keep a cat around for mental health! Only a little bit of a joke, cats do help mental health though.
In order to do cooking and baking when I hate having stuff on my hands, I make sure that the sink is empty and we have paper towels on the roll. That way I can stop at anytime and wash if I need to. Usually just knowing it's there is enough to get me through until the end.
