Back in the 1980s Ronald Reagan tried to create a 'Star Wars' program called the Strategic Defense Initiative.
Coincidentally, reagan also used the phrase 'Make America Great Again.'
Coincidentally, Reagan has done more damage to this country than any other president so far.
I think the US will have a new contender for that title.
Reagan's damage to the United States includes creating the environment that allowed Trump to become president, so he wins out via the "I raised that boy" principle.
One could also argue Nixon paved the way for Reagan.
If you go back to the time, most people were satisfied that Nixon had to resign and didn't have to stand trial.
Even confirmed Nixon haters like Hunter S. Thompson didn't raise a huge uproar.
Too bad the lesson the right learned was that you could do the crime and walk away scot free.
I always like to point out that when Reagan took office 'middle class' was still defined as one income supporting a family of four and $1 million was considered a vast fortune. Bythe time Bush Sr. left office, 'middle class' was two incomes to run a house and $1 million was what a rich guy paid for a party.
I've read but cannot confirm that a huge amount of that money went to special defense and black projects like what became the stealth bombers and other possibly still not public aircrafts
That's kind of like saying we burned down the barn, but got some good BBQ sandwiches
For fun, watch the TV show 'The Americans.' It's about two KGB spies living deep undercover in Washington in the 1980s. Stealth tech is a big part of the show.
