It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

So making a couple of assumptions here.

Assuming this was all Lime and that the cost per minute is 25¢ per min to just make the calculation easier…

Riding 4000 miles is about 15 miles a day. At an average speed of about 15 mph, it would take you about an hour.

Cost Breakdown • Unlocking fee: $1.00 • Per-minute rate: $0.25 • Ride cost: $0.25 * 60 minutes = $15

Total Cost Unlocking fee + Ride duration cost = $1.00 + $15.00 = $16.00/day

At 365 days that’s $5840. He could have bought like 10 scooters or maybe like 3 really good ones. Of course he would have to store them, charge them, do maintenance, etc. I mean yeah it’s expensive but this is cheaper than a car and much less hassle than owning either a car or a scooter. I guess that’s their business model.
