If an executive with decision making power boils severance down to that they should be fired on the spot

You have no idea dude. I work in the industry and executives are making the worst decisions you can imagine based on their own narrow, moronic view of culture. It’s enough to make you want to quit the career entirely sometimes.

I would be willing to bet this is actually more complicated than the decision making of most TV executives judging by history.
