I really like my job but I would drop it so fast if a competitor offered me even a 10% raise. I'll come back in a year when this company offers the same.
Loyalty goes both ways and the companies were the ones to break the contract first. Make me feel valued (financially) and I'll stay but my paycheck has never reflected how every year is a record profit year. In fact, my raises haven't even reflected inflation - I've effectively taken 3 pay cuts.
Gen Z is the generation born to the first generation denied the American Dream. They're also the first born into the digital age where information is easy to access, of course they're not interested. They see it for the scam that it is. How could you blame them for not wanting to play a rigged game?
