I saw a few bots having a great conversation with each other, today. A Microsoft corpo bot posted something cheery about Windows 11, then a few sock puppets chimed in with supportive comments, one of which was kinda inappropriate. The other bots went along with it and the conversation dwindled out. Makes one wonder how many people are best friends with an algorithm.

As much as people want Lemmy to grow, this is always the best time for social media.

There's just not enough people here for real propaganda bots to be worth it.

On Reddit and Twitter it's not just about the people the bots interact with, it's about all the lurkers that will see it.

There'll always be highly opinionated people who intentionally or not end up repeating propaganda, but it's not as bad as bots at least
