I kinda like ukes. Pulling off a good performance on a uke requires the same skills and commitment as a guitar and a well built uke sounds amazing in the right hands. Hell, a shit uke can sound great in the right hands. George Harrison used to travel with his and wrote some of his best songs with it. Here Comes The Sun, for example, is capo-ed at the 7th to emulate a uke.
