I mean, have you seen how they dressed?
Pirates were also largely LGBT/PoC - the maligned of society. The practice of a captain marrying people at sea supposedly started with pirates marrying gay couples because they couldn't get married onshore.
Pirates are like the definition of Be Gay, Do Crime.
Born too late to be a gay pirate.
Born too soon to be a gay space pirate.
Born just in time for the cyberpunk dystopia.
Born in time to pirate gay stuff from the internet
if it happens like it does in the expanse; we'll all be incidentally bi because of polyamory and bigamy. lol
