It was self defense. The ceo had murdered before, he would murder again!
Yep, he had spreadsheets right there on his laptop and was planning on adding a whole new year of patient deaths to them.

Considering he was headed into a meeting and was gonna plan to bring in even more profit likey by denying even more care I'd say it was certainly self defense.
