OK, so the logic behind the name and convention of this space is that “Authoritarianism” Is a term that only exists to use and describe The other. Specifically, that the US can do authoritarian things (lemmy.world)

To me, it seemed like they were implying that it's dumb to say PoC don't have agency and aren't just as to blame for Trump getting elected as the white people who voted for him.

Everyone who voted for Trump is to blame. Idgaf how much melanin they had, if they voted for him, it's their fault too.

The post is talking about how poc have been treated by the government and the comment sounds exactly like people who say shit like "some people deserve to be slaves" or "who do you think sent the slaves to the new world." If they wanted to say "don't forget that some poc voted for the fascist" they could have just said that. It still would have been tone deaf, at best, but you wouldn't sound like someone making excuses for a racist Internet stranger.
